Sunflowers are vibrant and thirsty blooms. To prolong their radiant beauty, gently remove the packaging and place them in a clean vase:
- Moderate Water: Fill the vase about one-third full with fresh water. Avoid overfilling, as their delicate, hairy stems are prone to rotting in deep water.
- Daily Refresh: Sunflowers are heavy drinkers. Change the water daily and trim the stems at a 45-degree angle to maximize water absorption.
- Ideal Placement: Although they seek the sun in nature, cut sunflowers last longest in a cool, well-ventilated area. Keep them away from direct sunlight, air-conditioning vents, and ripening fruit.
